Fun Wellbeing Activities for Team Meetings
Team meetings, especially for remote teams, can sometimes feel a bit routine. Injecting a bit of fun and creativity into these meetings can help boost morale, encourage collaboration, and improve overall employee wellbeing. Here are three fun wellbeing activities that will not only engage your team but also bring some light-heartedness to your meetings.
. The Blob Tree
The Blob Tree is a fantastic tool to get your team thinking about their emotions and how they relate to the workplace. Created by Pip Wilson, the Blob Tree features a variety of "blobs" in different positions and situations on a tree. Each team member selects the blob that best represents their current state of mind or how they feel about a particular aspect of their work.
How to do it:
- Share the Blob Tree image with your team.
- Ask each team member to pick a blob that resonates with them.
- Discuss as a group or in smaller break-out rooms why they chose that particular blob. It’s a great way to gauge how your team is feeling and opens up the conversation about mental and emotional wellbeing in a non-threatening way.
2. Draw a Self-Portrait in the Style of…
Artistic talent isn’t necessary for this fun wellbeing activity! This exercise encourages creativity and a bit of laughter, perfect for breaking the ice in a remote team setting. Using a tool like Web Whiteboard, team members can draw a self-portrait—but with a twist. The twist? They have to do it in the style of a famous artist like Picasso or Van Gogh.
How to do it:
- Share the Web Whiteboard link with your team.
- Ask them to draw a self-portrait in the style of a famous artist (the more abstract, the better, use a reference to share on your screen).
- Once done, share the masterpieces and enjoy the creativity and humour that comes with it.
3. 1, 2, 3 Yoga
Movement is essential for both physical and mental health, especially for remote teams who may spend long hours sitting. The "1, 2, 3 Yoga" activity is a quick and fun way to incorporate movement into your team meeting. The host projects images of funny or unusual yoga poses, and the team has just a few seconds to try and recreate the pose themselves. Laughter guaranteed!
How to do it
- Find or create a selection of funny or unusual yoga poses.
- Share your screen and project the images one at a time.
- Give the team a few seconds to attempt each pose.
- Enjoy the laughter and light-hearted competition!
